Ed’s Corner January 2018

December 30, 2017

edatgambleAs we look forward to 2018 it astonishes me to look back on 2017 and reflect on all we have accomplished. Our team closes out 2017 having made a great deal of progress.

After four years of construction the Beach House is finished and our guests and brides have been thrilled!
The Mar Vista has a brand new state of the art kitchen and will get an interior renovation in 2018.
The Sandbar continues to be the place where people come to spend their special day with loved ones whether it is for a relaxing lunch or dinner or their wedding or family gathering.

Gamble Creek Farm, our farm in Parrish, continues to make progress in supporting all three of our restaurants with fresh produce and is now accessible to the public with the Gamble Creek Farmer’s Market.

Our push towards sustainability continues and we were honored to be a major component of the first United Nations Observatory for Sustainable Tourism in North America. We implemented several sustainable programs this year such as our effort to drastically reduce the use of straws, plastics and nonbiodegradeables throughout our entire company. We participated in a collaborative oyster shell recycling and restoration program and to date have contributed 40,000 pounds of shell that is eventually bagged and strategically planted in local waters to help produce a natural habitat and keep our local waters clean and healthy.

We have continued to build our leadership team and we are very excited about the culinary offerings we will be featuring in 2018. If you haven’t seen the new Beach House deck and outdoor bar yet we hope you will stop by soon. Ask for one of our managers. They will be happy to give you a tour and show you all the bells and whistles!

We are grateful to our guests who have been on this journey with us and we look forward to seeing you all in 2018 and to welcoming all the new friends we will make in the new year.

Best wishes to you and yours for a healthy and prosperous New Year!

Ed
