At the Island Chamber of Commerce Installation Banquet held on Monday, Nov. 9, the Chiles Restaurant Group was awarded Large Business of the Year, which recognizes Anna Maria Island businesses which exemplify growth, productivity, customer service, job creation and overall contribution to the community. The Chiles Group has been in business 30 years. Ed Chiles, owner of the the Sandbar, BeachHouse and Mar Vista Restaurants accepted the award.Other winners included Laura Shely, owner of the Tide and Moon gift shop for the small business award, and John and Barbara Jaeger of the White Egret accepted the award for the best medium sized business. Most notably David Teitelbaum was chosen by the Rotary Club as Anna Maria Island Businessperson of the Year.
