Empty Bowls 2010 - Oct. 21st & 22nd

October 4, 2010

Empty Bowls hosted by Meals on WheelsHelp fight hunger by attending the 10th Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon, sponsored by Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee. Select a hand-crafted ceramic bowl made by ArtCenter Manatee and local potters to keep, and then enjoy a variety of gourmet soups donated by local restaurants. All proceeds will benefit the Food Bank of Manatee. The Sandbar, BeachHouse and Mar Vista will be serving their famous Clam Chowder along with another fabulous soup choice.

Publix Super Markets, First Bank, and the Highwater Clay Company are supporting the event with fresh-baked bread, bottled water, and the clay used to make the ceramic bowls. Chuck Caudill will be providing the music on the Thursday at the Renaissance on 9th event, while Friday’s Lakewood Ranch event will have music, fun and prizes by Radio station 92.1.

Some of the bowls were created by members of the Bradenton Marauders Single A Baseball team. Not only are you helping a worthy cause and getting a hearty lunch, but you just may go home with a bowl made by Calvin Anderson, Casey Erickson, Noah Krol, or Matt McSwain.

Join us from 11:30 am - 1 pm, Thursday, October 21 at Renaissance on 9th, located at 1816 9th Street West in Bradenton or Friday, October 22 at Lakewood Ranch on Main Street. Advance Tickets: $18 and Day-of Tickets: $20.
