The Chiles Group, consisting of the Sandbar, Beachhouse and Mar Vista Restaurants are competing against each other to claim the “Biggest Loser” title. Modeled after the popular television show, “The Biggest Loser”, the inter-company competition began September 16 and runs for twelve weeks. Three categories are available for competitors; slim down, bulk up and sculpt and tone. Each contestant was weighed in and measured for body fat content at the beginning of the challenge. Winners will be decided by averaging weight loss based on the number of participants. Weekly weigh-ins are required and any participant missing more than three weigh-ins is disqualified. Prizes will be awarded for the top competitors in each of the three categories for each restaurant. The winning restaurant will enjoy a victory party sponsored by the last place restaurant where the coveted Golden Grouper Trophy and, of course, bragging rights will be awarded. There are 63 participants; 32 from the Sandbar, 21 from the Beachhouse and 10 from the Mar Vista, and to date, there have been a total of 150 pounds shed. The Sandbar is currently in the lead, but the race is neck and neck.
