Conde Nast Travel Magazine has just revealed their 2010 list of “Reader’s Choice Awards,” where readers vote on their favorite destinations. This year, Longboat Key has made its debut, making the list as one of the Top Islands. Actually, Longboat Key did more than just “make” the list, they came in as the 2nd favorite Island destination in North America, coming in just after Kiawah. Not too shabby! Of course, we know that Longboat is one of the best places to visit (or live in) but it is great to hear that everyone else things so too. Readers cite our “powdery white beaches” and “turquoise water” as reasons why they love it here. More reasons to love Longboat? Great food with a great view at Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant and Pub! When visiting Longboat, make sure to stop by our fish-camp style restaurant, where you can chow on our New Steamer Pots while overlooking that sparkling turquoise water. If you’re out on a boat, you can boat right on up to Mar Vista’s private dock and tie up. Then you can just chill on our outdoor deck and sample some bites and a brew. Just tell the Captain, “Take us to Mile Marker 39 on the Intracoastal!” Our outdoor dining is so relaxed and welcoming, you can even bring your four-legged friends. Who would ever want to leave this picture-perfect island destination? Not us!
