Looking for a special way to celebrate Mother’s Day with Mom this year? How about taking a boat ride to Mar Vista for lunch. Enjoy tropical cocktails and dinner at the BeachHouse. Take mom to the place that was just voted #1 Place to Watch the Sunset by the AMI Sun readers poll and Favorite Place for the sunset by the Bradenton Herald Readers. Each of our restaurants will have special offerings sure to make Mother’s Day complete.
Our Chefs will be offering some succulent specials. Mar Vista will offer Grilled Swordfish with a lemon caper sauce, Grilled salmon served over sweet potato grits and our famous Crab Steamer pots.
The BeachHouse will be serving: Coquille St. Jacques - Large Seas scallops baked in a puff pastry with a Swiss Gruyere Sauce; Norwegian Salmon - Chargrilled Norwegian Salmon Filet topped with sautéed fresh Spinach and Montrachet Goat Cheese Butter; Crab Imperial - Rich lump crab meat baked with cream, sherry and topped with buttery brown bread crumbs; with Fresh Catches including Grouper, Salmon and Tuna.
The specials at the Sandbar will be: Bud and Bay Shrimp - a half pound of shell-on shrimp boiled in Budweiser with Old Bay seasoning; Cajun Oysters - oysters on the half shell baked with Ed’s shrimp and crab stuffing; Maryland Crab Cakes - Baked lump crab cake prepared in true Maryland Style; Mediterranean Grouper - Pan seared grouper with shrimp, spinach and tomato in lemon butter, white wine sauce topped with feta cheese; and Macadamia Mahi - Macadamia nut crusted Mahi-Mahi wrapped and baked in phyllo dough with a mango poppy seed butter sauce.
Mother’s Day Sail
In celebration of Mom, on Monday, May 9th, all Moms can sail for half price on the 20 passenger Kathleen D Sailing Catamaran. The cruise includes complimentary soft drinks and water, and guests are welcome to bring adult beverages and snacks on board. After the cruise, passengers can enjoy a 10% discount on a meal at the Mar Vista.
The cost is $50 per person, with mothers sailing for $25, and will depart from the Mar Vista Dockside Restaurant on Longboat Key at 4:00 pm and again at 6:30 pm for a two hour cruise.
